Meet the Puppets gatherings are limited to 8 guests; the morning Troupe Workshop has 20 places. Attendance is free; please RSVP. All times are Pacific.
Saturday November 14 — JDF 55+ Activity Centre
Room 202, 1767 Island Highway. Enter from Ocean Boulevard. Both gatherings are open to the public; beginners are welcome.
The afternoon introduction follows the morning practice. Each session has its own free RSVP; reserve both if attending the full day. Please note this corrected venue and schedule when reserving.

Special event: First Annual All Puppet Festivus
Saturday December 19, 2026, 1–4 pm — JDF 55+ Activity Centre, Room 201, 1767 Island Highway. Enter from Ocean Boulevard.
Puppets and their operators from across Vancouver Island are invited to join the First Threads cast for an afternoon of good humour and playful company. Newcomers are welcome to come along, meet the cast and find a puppet they like; you don’t need to bring your own. Is there something your puppet has been complaining about all year? The Airing of Grievances is their chance to get it off their little chest, followed by Feats of Strength with the barbells.
20 free places for people, with puppets welcome along. No Village membership is required. Reserve your Festivus place.
