Spectrum Quarterly was initially named XQQ, Cross Queer Quarterly. From 2015 until the pandemic, it was handed out at Pride festivals across BC.

It has always been a mix of editorial content and resource directory content. Prior pandemic the resource directory covered transition related services across BC. Since the pandemic the resource directory covers Community Services across Western Canada and designed to answer the “TEN THINGS everyone should know about where they live”
